About Dr.Colette

Voting for Dr. Colette November 5th elects an individual with a vision to serve a diverse community, integrated K-20 education systems, rising private sector innovation and an evolving Greater Sacramento community. I hold more than 35 years of leadership with a record of serving students who attend Los Rios colleges and the City of Sacramento as a whole.

My community focused leadership stems from inventive management in the private sector to becoming a forward-thinking tenured faculty member at Cosumnes River College and subsequently a progressive education administrator. My commitment to serving and giving back in education is reflected in my election to the Faculty Association of California Community College (FACCC) Board and appointment to serve as Past President of the Sac State Alumni Association and current Sac State University Foundation Board Member.

As Los Rios navigates the years beyond a nationwide pandemic, racial unrest and student enrollment decline, Dr. Colette’s focus on diverse students, prudent fiscal management and community influence is needed! Los Rios is an economic driver in Sacramento and California and must continue to lead in education practices and policies that make sense for our students and community! As a Trustee I bring a unique diverse background, experience in education, the private sector and commitment to the community.

Political Involvement

Creating political change locally, nationally, and internationally, Dr. Colette is lifetime member of Sacramento Black Women Organized for Political Action, California Black Women’s Collective, and a graduate of Emerge CA preparing women to run for political office.

She is a past member of the Proposition 16 Black Voter Campaign Statewide Steering Committee, Past President of the Los Rios Community College District Black Faculty and Staff Association and Past Faculty Association of California Community Colleges Region F and Governor at Large Board of Governor Member.
